Lehigh Valley ALS United Walk

Team Lenny's Light

Team Lenny's Light was established in 2021 by the Youth Outreach of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, PA in order to honor our friend and church member Lenny Rafalko.

Lenny died in August of 2024, but we continue to walk in his memory.

Team Lenny’s Light took first place honors for the third year in a row at the Lehigh Valley ALS Walk on Sat Sep 28, 2024 at Cedar Crest College. In memory of Lenny Rafalko, we raised over $10,000 to help defeat ALS. Almost 40 team members strolled the campus in a fine mist.

Before the walk, team members Marda Smith, Paul Bartlett, and Norm were hosted on WMFZ’s Sunrise Weekend News. Following the walk we returned to St Mark’s Lutheran Church for lunch.

Team members can be walkers, donors, or both! Join Team Lenny's Light today for the 2025 Walk on September 27th at Cedar Crest College in Allentown.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
