Ocean City ALS United Walk

Ali's Angels South

ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is fatal.

Always. There is no known cause. There is no cure.

The average person who has ALS lives 2-5 years after being diagnosed.

It usually takes a year or two to get diagnosed, as there is no specific test for ALS. It is diagnosed by ruling out every other possible disease.

In 2004 We lost our sister, mother, aunt and friend Alison, to ALS. A friend of mine lost his mother. A former co-worker lost her battle with ALS late last year.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. ALS can strike anyone. There are some studies that indicate that Veterans are slightly more vulnerable to it.

Thank you for supporting my ALS United Walk fundraiser! The ALS United Walk raises funds for local patient care programs and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

That's why I'm walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: "You have ALS" again.

The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.

But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.

Thank you for supporting our ALS United Walk Fundraiser! United against ALS, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Our team is committed to raising money to support people in our local community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Please consider joining our team in the ALS United Walk or choose a team member from the list and donate to our cause.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
That’s why we’re participating in the ALS United Walk. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. Will you join us?
