Philadelphia ALS United Walk Presented by Hatfield: Miss Maya Barnes

Thank you for supporting my ALS United Walk fundraiser! The ALS United Walk raises funds for local patient care programs and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

My Grammy was diagnosed in 2022 with ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

On Sunday November 9, 2025, our family will participating in The United ASL Walk by hosting a virtual walk in our neighborhood in Downingtown, PA.

We are walking to CHANGE the statistics.

We are walking to bring HELP & HOPE to those living ALS.

We are walking for those, like my Grammy, who can?t!

The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.

But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.
