My mom, Joyce Rawlings, was diagnosed in October of 2022 with ALS - Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. This disease has rocked our world and presented countless physical challenges in her every day life. Despite being a healthy and active woman, this disease has quickly stolen her mobility, independence, and much of her strength and energy.

We were blind-sided and devastated to learn what life looks like with ALS. This progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure, no recovery, no remission. 

WALKING OUR WAY

On Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2025, our family will participate in The United ALS Walk. Unlike our team walk in 2023 held in Philadelphia, we will be hosting a virtual walk in our neighborhood in Downingtown, Pennsylvania this year. We are excited and hope to see you there! Dm me for details.

We are walking to bring HELP & HOPE to those living ALS.

We are walking for those, like mom, who can't.
