2023 ALS Walk in Philly
Thank you for supporting my ALS United Walk fundraiser! The ALS United Walk raises funds for local patient care programs and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
In 2022, my mom, Joyce, was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That's why I'm walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: "You have ALS" again.
ALS United Mid-Atlantic exists to ensure that anyone facing ALS has someone to turn to for expert advice, essential equipment and support, community, caring conversations, and so much more. They remain committed to meeting the needs of individuals and families facing ALS in eastern and central Pennsylvania, central and southern New Jersey, and all of Delaware.
I am walking and raising money to help ensure that these valuable services can continue for others affected by this terrible disease. While we wait for a cure, ALS United Mid-Atlantic continues to provide support and resources to ensure that all individuals with ALS can continue to live a meaningful and dignified life.
Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.
