Thank you for helping team Fightin ALS for Karen reach our Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

 

I am walking for my mom, Karen Meenan, who was diagnosed with ALS in March 2023, and passed away in January 2025.   She fought ALS head on and inspired the rest of us to fight against ALS any way we can, in this case in the form of fundraising for research and access to care for those currently fighting the disease.  ALS United Midatlantic was a big support for my mom and our family during her battle with ALS, and we want to help them continue to support other families in our area who face this horrifying diagnosis.  

 

The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families. 

 

But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with all of us.
