Madd Walkers
This horrific disease took our dear wife, mother, sister, friend, and colleague, Joyce Maddy, from us much too early. Joyce was diagnosed in August of 2022 and passed away in September, 2024.
Joyce was kind, loving, gracious, compassionate, caring, one of the best people we have ever known. She thought of others first and always asked “how are you doing” and really wanted to know, she was truly interested in everyone and their well-being.
Joyce was a devoted and loving mother and wife, her family was the center of her universe. Joyce was a spiritual person and gave all of herself to everyone she met. She loved the simple things in life including cooking, traveling, gardening, walking and reading.
While Joyce’s life was cut short, her impact on all of us will continue for so many years to come. She fought this horrible disease with such dignity. We were constantly in awe of her and the courage she displayed during this time.
Joyce was the epitome of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,”. If we all live our lives, even in a small part, in the goodness that defined Joyce, it would be a perfect way to honor her memory.
When we first organized our walk for the ALS Association it was to honor Joyce and show her how much she was loved and supported. Now we walk in memory of Joyce to help to one day eradicate ALS so no one has to endure the pain and suffering of those diagnosed.
Please consider donating to our team and joining us on the walk.
