United, we will end ALS

WHY LINDSAY WALKS

Lindsay participated in the 2025 Hershey ALS United Walk in honor of her dear friend and colleague, Wendy, who was diagnosed with ALS in March. After her diagnosis, Wendy expressed her desire to participate in the ALS United Walk in Hershey, and together with other teachers, Lindsay formed a team for her.

2025 Hershey Walk - Wendy's Warriors

Wendy taught at Elizabethtown Area School District from 1990 until January 2025. She taught children to read when they struggled. Wendy had a calm voice, offered caring words of encouragement, and stood by their side until they became successful readers.

“Wendy has always been a giver, and now it’s our turn to give back to her,” shared Lindsay. Before retiring in January, Wendy faced challenges at school, needing assistance to navigate her classroom safely. Staff rallied to support her, ensuring she was helped into the building in the morning, throughout the day, and back to her car.
