YOUR DONATIONS MAKE A LOCAL IMPACT
People living with ALS and their families come first in everything we do, and everything we do supports the search for effective treatments and cures for ALS. ALS United Mid-Atlantic is committed to our mission, to unite and empower the ALS community through a collaborative approach to fostering bold research initiatives, advancing national and state advocacy, and providing comprehensive care and support to individuals and families affected by ALS.
GET STARTED FUNDRAISING
We encourage you to follow the fundraising steps below to get started! As always, our staff is here to help. Please reach out to Michelle Rogers at Michelle@alsmidatlantic.org if you have any questions about fundraising or how to boost your fundraising efforts.
STEP 1) Personalize Your Personal Page
Your personal page is the place to tell your story and let everyone know why you are participating in the ALS United Walk and why finding a cure for ALS is so important to you. Be sure to update your page with a photo too!
Personal Page Checklist:
- Add your story
- Upload a photo
- Set your fundraising goal - don't be afraid to aim high!
Did you know that someone that donates to themselves is proven to have a larger impact on our fundraising events? Everyone will be able to see how committed you are to the cause. Jump startyour fundraising with a self-donation today!
STEP 3) Share Your Fundraiser
Be sure to tell all your friends and colleagues that you have joined the ALS United Walk! Ask them for their support in helping you do all that you can to challenge ALS this year.
Spread the Word:
- Share the link to your fundraising page on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or whichever social media platform you prefer. Be sure to add your story and photos, so people can connect with your fundraiser.
- Send emails through the Participant Center! We created email templates to make this step easy. Select one of the pre-written emails and add a sentence or two about your story and why their donation is important to you. Then click send!
- Add your fundraising page to your email signature, so it is super easy for your friends and family to make a donation.
- Call your friends and family. Take a few minutes to explain why you are participating in the ALS United Walk and why their support is so important.
- Send a letter. Everyone likes getting something in the mail that isn't a bill! Send a card or letter to your friends and family asking for their support. In the letter, share your story and the impact of the Walk.
