Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you for supporting my ALS United Ride fundraiser! The ALS United Ride raises funds for local patient care programs and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
The reason Carol and I are riding is for our long time Lou Monaco who has recently been diagnosed with ALS. Some of you may know Lou as a special education teacher (retired) in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Others may know him as the Host at Uncle Wills Pancake House, Beach Haven, NJ.
Lou is the kind person who always arrives with positive energy (a lot) and a smile on his face. Lou has touched the lives of many of us and now it’s time for us to support him.
The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.
But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.
Please consider riding with Carol and I or sponsoring our team. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease. Hope to see you out there!
