This year the official Mid-Atlantic ALS walk in Hershey is on Sat. June 8th.
Due to scheduling conflicts, we are having our walk date to Sun. May 5th.
Our Date: SUNDAY, MAY 5th
Location: Same as recent years: Codorus State Park on Marina Road. Starting by the Marina building and ending at mom's bench and tree near the pigeon monument.
Time: Meeting at 9:00am with walk starting at 9:30am.
Walk: 2 miles on the roads around the marina area.
We'll have water and snacks. Bring a beverage of your choice, if you would like!

My mother, Vicki Gobrecht, was officially diagnosed with ALS on June 1st, 2017 and lost her battle on January 18th, 2019. We are walking in her memory as well as many others and to honor those continuing to fight this horrible disease. This year will be our 7th ALS Walk.

Thank you for helping me reach my Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That's why I'm walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: "You have ALS" again.
The past few years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.
But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.
