Hewitt's Herd
Walking in Honor of Brent Hewitt
Welcome to our ALS United Walk for a Cure team page, and thank you for your support.
This walk is especially meaningful to us as we honor Brent Hewitt. We walk in celebration of his strength, courage, faith, and the lasting impact he has made on the lives of his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
ALS is a devastating disease that affects not only those diagnosed but also the people who love and care for them. By participating in the ALS United Walk for a Cure, we are helping raise critical funds to support research, advocacy, and services for individuals and families impacted by ALS.
Every donation, every shared message, and every step taken in Brent's honor brings us closer to a future where ALS no longer changes lives.
Thank you for joining us in remembering Brent and supporting the fight against ALS. Together, we can honor his legacy by bringing hope to others and working toward a world without ALS.
Why We Need Your Help
Every 90 minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with ALS. Every 90 minutes, another person loses their battle with this disease. ALS does not discriminate, it can strike anyone, anywhere, regardless of race, ethnicity, or income.
That’s why we walk. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide critical resources and services to families free of charge. Your support can make a real, immediate impact. Will you join us?
About ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of the ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The average life expectancy from diagnosis is just 2 to 5 years. In our case, we only had 1 year with Brent after his diagnosis.
There is currently no known cause or cure. On top of the emotional toll, caring for a loved one with ALS costs an average of $250,000 per year. By joining the ALS United Walk, you can provide help, hope, and a lifeline to families facing this devastating disease.
Together, we can make a difference.
