Yvonne's Cure Chasers 2026
Family and friends,
For the third year, I'm reaching out to ask for your support as we come together to honor my incredibly courageous mom, Yvonne Dollar-Perry, in her battle with ALS. This cause is also deeply personal because my mother-in-law, Sharon Farmer, bravely fought ALS before passing away on November 3, 2019.
ALS is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly steals a person's ability to walk, speak, eat, hug their loved ones, and eventually even breathe on their own—all while their mind remains fully aware. It is a devastating and unimaginably cruel disease that robs people of life's simplest joys. Watching both of the mothers in my life face ALS has been heartbreaking, and it's impossible to overstate the impact this disease has on individuals and the families who love them.
Today, my mom continues to fight with incredible strength and grace. Her courage inspires me every single day, and it's why this walk means so much to our family.
I'm asking you to please consider joining Team Yvonne at the ALS Walk in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday, September 12th. Whether you can walk alongside us in person, participate virtually from wherever you are, or simply make a donation, every act of support makes a difference. Together, we can raise awareness, fund critical research, and help move us closer to better treatments—and one day, a cure.
Thank you for standing with my family, for honoring my mom and Sharon, and for supporting the thousands of families whose lives have been forever changed by ALS.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Elizabeth
