Why We Need Your Help
Every 90 minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with ALS. Every 90 minutes, another person loses their battle with this disease. 

In honor of my late grandfather is who we are walking for. Joseph Santonastaso was a strong and brilliant man. He never stopped working for what was his. His strength and work ethics has shaped our family in who we are today. When he was given just a year to live, we witnessed what this terrible disease brings. We hope with what we raise, we can make a difference and find a cure to end this disease. 

About ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of the ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The average life expectancy from diagnosis is just 2 to 5 years.

There is currently no known cause or cure. On top of the emotional toll, caring for a loved one with ALS costs an average of $250,000 per year. By joining the ALS United Walk, you can provide help, hope, and a lifeline to families facing this devastating disease.
