Welcome to My Personal Page
Happy 2026 to friends and family. I will again represent Team Ted at the annual ALS United Mid-Atlantic walk in Scranton on April 18, 2026. Team Ted’s first two years set fund raising records and I am hoping to continue that success in year three. I will be moving out of the Mid-Atlantic area this summer, so I hope to go out with a bang.
In the past two years I highlighted the programs like Social Security and Medicare and ALS Mid-Atlantic which help ALS patients remain safe, comfortable and engaged in their homes. These are immediate goals which are immensely important for patients and their families. This year I want to stress a future, more long-term goal – the search for a cure for ALS.
The cystic fibrosis community has shown that years of fundraising efforts, often at the grass roots level, can support research and have dramatically important clinical results. Recent scientific developments in treating spinal motor atrophy and muscular dystrophy hold tantalizing promise for related disease processes in ALS. As federal funding for basic research is reduced, private donations will be increasingly important to move these initiatives forward. I want the momentum to continue.
I am beyond grateful for Ted’s loyal and generous family and friends. Thank you for the support you have given me to walk in Ted’s honor for three years. I hope you will again consider donating or walking with me in Scranton. Possibly this effort will continue after my move to Maine. I will keep you posted!
