To all our friends and family.   As many of you know,  Suzanne was an avid cyclist.  Her bicycle was her "happy place," and she and I spent many days riding trails up and down the mid-Atlantic region as well as in Europe.  Chris, Morgan and I couldn't think of a better way to honor her than participating in this charity bike ride.  I would like to ask all of you to support my ALS United Ride fundraiser! The ALS United Ride raises funds for local patient care programs and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

 

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.  It is our hope that this fundraiser will make a little difference in the search for a cure for this horrible disease.

 

That's why I'm riding. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To hope that some day, no one ever hears the words: "You have ALS" again. 

 

The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families. 

 

But we can't stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.

With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.  Chris, Morgan, Ryan, Ollie and I will be riding the 16 mile route.   I am asking each of you to make a donation of $1 a mile or $16.00 to this worthwhile event.  Of course larger donations are appreciated.
